Androgen

Pineal
An endocrine gland that is shaped like a small pine cone
Cortisone
A glucocorticoid hormone that is isolated from the adrenal cortex; used as an anti-inflammatory agent
Myxedema
A condition of muscus swelling resulting from hypofunction of the thyroid gland
Diabetes
A disease characterized by excessive discharge of urine
Catecholamines
Biochemical substances, epinephrine, norepinephrine, and dopamine
Iodine
A trace mineral that aids in the development and functioning of the throid gland
Acidosis
A condition of excessive acidity of body fluids
Hirsutism
An abnormal condition characterized by excessive growth of hair
Vasopressin
A hormone produced by the thyroid gland; important in growth and development and regulation of the body's metabolic rate and metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins
Progeria
A condition of premature old age occurring in childhood
Cushing's Disease
Results from hypersecretion of cortisol

A general classification of the adreneal cortical hormones
Aldosterone
A mineralocorticoid hormone that helps regulate metabolism of sodium, chloride, and potassium
Adrenal
Pertaining to toward the kidney
Parathyroid
An endocrine gland located beside the thyroid gland
Epinephrine
A hormone produced by the adrenal medulla
Dopamine
An intermediate substance in the synthesis of norepinephrine; used to treat shock as it acts to elevate blood pressure and increase urinary output
Dwarfism
A condition of being abnormally small
Endocrine
A ductless gland that produces an internal secretion
Cretinism
A congential deficiency in secretion of the thyroid hormones T3 and T4
Euthroid
Normal activity of the throid gland

Pertaining to an abnormal protrusion of the eye

Results from a deficiency in the secretion of adrenocortical hormones
Galactorrhea
Excessive secretion of milk after cessation of nursing
Somatotropin
Growth-stimulating hormone produced by the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland
