- Malaweg
- a dialect of Itawit spoken in Rizal, Cagayan.
- segmentation
- the structural principle that states that the social world is divided by various criteria into sets of mutually exclusive segments, e.g. kinship system, age-grading and generation system, social class system, political system, locality system, language, religion, and time.

- the biggest hydro-electric dam in Southeast Asia, it is located in Brgy. San Roque, San Manuel, Pangasinan but its reservoir reaches all the way to Itogon, Benguet.

- a bilateral set of close relatives; angkan in Tagalog.
- quasi-contractual reciprocity
- a type of reciprocity that regulates balanced exchanges where the terms of repayment are not explicitly stated before the contract is made.

- the belief that to claim success as a personal achievement, to take pride in it, or to refuse to share it with others is to make oneself not only undeserving of good luck (which everyone is) but positively deserving of failure.

- a socially recognized and stable union providing sexual access, legitimizing offspring, and establishing other rights and obligations between the partners and other units of society.

- political system ruled by men in which the women have inferior social and political status, including basic human rights.

- a recognized system of multiple spouses.
- reciprocity
- the exchange of goods and/or services without the use of money; every service received, solicited or not, demands a return - the nature and proportion of the return determined by the relative statuses of the parties involved, and the kind of exchange at issue.

- the kinship term used by the Ego to call his or her relative.

- a term used by anthropologists and psychologists to describe the development, through the direct and indirect influence of parents and others, of children's patterns of behavior, attitudes, and values that conform to cultural expectations.

- an intermediary value to achieve social acceptance; defined as a facility at getting along with others in such a way as to avoid outwards signs of conflict, such as glum or sour looks, harsh words, open disagreement, or physical violence; it is acquired through pakikisama, euphemism, and use of go-between.

- a variation of a family composed of a nuclear family with one or more relatives but not yet comprising another nuclear family.

- the preference of the couple to establish their own residence separate from those of their parents whenever they could already afford to do so.

- the kinship term used by the Ego to refer to his or her kin when talking with somebody else.

- naming a child after the name of the father; practiced by Kalingas and some Muslim groups in Mindanao.

- naming a child after the name of the mother followed by that of the father.
