- Where a row and column intersect. A cell is identified by a column letter and row number; for example G8.
- Cell
- Shows the current location of the cell cursor at the top of the screen.
- Cell Indicator
- Graphical representation of numeric data.
- Chart
- Indicator on Formula Bar clicked when data entered is correct. Also called accept box.
- Check Box
- Vertical line of data identified by a letter.
- Column
- Determines how the data stored in a cell will be displayed.
- Formatting
- Line at the top of a screen where data entered from the keyboard is displayed before it is entered into a cell.
- Formula Bar
- Mathematical statements used to calculate values which are stored in cells. The statement: =C5+D7+E8 is a formula.
- Formulas
- Used in formulas to perform common calculations for example: SUM
- Functions
- Moves the screen window to display a particular cell specified in the Go To command from the Edit menu.
- Go To
- Words or characters stored in a cell that cannot be used in calculations.
- Label
- The design of a spreadsheet including the placement of data in its rows and columns, column widths and the use of formatting options
- Layout
- Partial row and/or column of adjacent cells.
- Range
- Horizontal line of data identified by a number.
- Row
- Moving the screen window to view different parts of a spreadsheet.
- Scroll
- Rows and columns of data on which calculations can be performed.
- Spreadsheet
- Numeric data that can be stored in cells and used in calculations.
- Values
- Indicator on Formula Bar clicked when data entered in incorrect. Also called the reject or cancel box.
