- digestion
- process that breaks down food into small molecules so they can move into blood.
- food pyramid

- protein molecules that speed up the rate of chemical reactions in all living organisms in your body.

- breaks down large molecules of food into different, smaller molecules that can be absorbed by cells.
- mechanical digestion
- takes place when food is chewed and mixed int he mouth and chruned in the stomach.

- provide energy and help body absorb vitamins
- homeostasis
- one homeostasis is restored, the signal to the brain stops.
- nutrient
- substances in foods that provide energy and materials for cell development, growth, and repair.
