- Acetylcholine

Muscarinic and nicotinic receptor agonist. Muscarinic effects predominate.
Lower BP - Carbachol

Muscarinic and nicotinic receptor agonist. Muscarinic effects predominate. Not metabolized by AChE.
Lower BP - Carotid Occlusion

Stimulates baroreceptors in carotid artery to activate sympathetic system. Causes release of NE and Epi.
Raise BP - DMPP (Dimethylphenylpiperazinium)

Nicotinic receptor agonist. Relatively selective for for release of catecholamines from adrenal medulla.
Raise BP - Epinephrine

Alpha and beta agonist. Alpha effects predominate, although affinity for beta receptors is somewhat greater than affinity for alpha receptors.
Raise BP - Histamine

H1 and H2 receptor agonist. H1 is fast-acting and H2 is slower-acting and has longer duration of action. Both cause vasodilation.
Lower BP - Isoprateranol

Beta selective agonist.

Muscarinic agonist with affinity for M1 receptors on nerves. Causes activation of sympathetic system (release of NE).
Has lower affinity for M3 receptors on endothelium, which cause vasodilation.

Lower BP - Tyramine

Indirect sympathomimetic that is taken up into SN terminals and causes release of NE from Tyramine Reusable Pool. Blocked by drugs like cocaine or impramine.
Raise BP - Vagal stimulation

Stimulation of vagus nerve causes release of ACh on muscarinic receptors of supraventricular cells of heart, slowing or stopping the heart.
Lower BP
