- This was Allie's baseball glove that he would write poems on in green ink, so that he would not be bored. It represents how Holden feels that he can use it to help catch people and keep them truthful.

- The prostitute that Holden calls and asks to cocktails, which she says she must go the next day. He got her number from Ernie at Pencey. The main deal with her(WT)

- The Girl Holden goes on a date with when he is in New York. He is bipolar when he is with her.(JW)

- Term that Holden uses to describe people that he believes act as different people and that he uses as almost an insult meaning a fake/superficial person.(WT)
- Stradlater
- Holden's roommate from Pencey. He was tall, blond and athletic. He was described as a secret slob, and a friendly phony. He fought Stradlater once because he was going out with Jane(CC)
- Rain
- Holden doesn't care that this falls on Allie's grave because he know that Allie is really gone and he is never coming back. Phoebe however, feels that even if Allie is dead he should still be protected from the rain, because if he is allowed to get wet she feels that it means they have forgotten about Allie.
- Wicker Bar
- The bar where Holden meets Carl Luce for a drink and talks about sex/women, and has a meaningless conversation with.(WT)

- She is Holden's Childhood friend. Holden can't think anything bad about her. We find out that she is going on a date with Stradlater, which he is worried about her for. Holden is afraid to call her.(JW)

- She is the young prostitute that Maurice sends to Holden's room. When she arrives Holden only wants to talk to her. He gives the excuse that he had back surgery as a reason to talk to her, instead of prostitutional business.(WT)

- Article of clothing that is bright orange-red that reminds Holden of his dead brother Allie. It reminds him of Allie because Allie's hair was that color so when he wears the hat he feels like Allie is still with him(WT)

- Holden describes himself as this, because he is unwilling to fight people, but he contradicts himself when he fights Stradlater. He also says he is yellow, which means that him being a "pacifist" might just be an excuse.(CC)
