- imminent
- adj. About to happen; likely. The weather in Hawaii is imminent because it rains like every 5 minutes.
- arraign
- v. To bring before a court to face charges. That man was once arraigned for killing a very important man.
- anarchy
- n. Total absence of government. 2) Lack of order; confusion, because of no order. The girl was in anarchy when her ride didn't show
- dissension.
- An agruement; disagreement. My friend and I are still getting over an dissension and we haven't talked since.
- sweltering
- adj. Very hot and humid; uncomfortable because of hot weather. It was one of the many sweltering days of summer in Africa.
- calamity
- n. An event that causes great suffering and harm; disaster. Seeing the destruction of the Hurricane Katrina was calamitous
- shackle
- n. 1) A ring or band that is put on the arms or legs to prevent free movement. 2) Something that prevents free movement. v. To prevent freedom of action. I was put in shackles during prison, and it was hard to get in a comfortable position.
- assimilate
- v. 1) To absord into a population. 2) To take part and absorb in the whole. New students assimilate into a new group of friends at the start of school.
- elapse
- v. To slip or pass time by. Time elapses when you have fun because you dont think about the boring things.
- bizarre
- adj. Strikingly out of the ordinary; peculiar. The bear snuggling with a dear was a bizarre scene.
- interrogate
- v. To ask closely. To question. I interrogated the trespassor to make sure he wasn't a illegal alien.
- apprehend
- v. 1) To seize; to arrest. 2) To grasp the meaning of; to understand. After a long time of doing the same math problem, I finally apprehended how to solve it.
- meticulous
- adj. Extremely careful; attentive to small detail. I was meticulous about planning my best friend's surprise birthday party.
- interrogation
- n. The act of questioning. The interrogation was so long and tiring, and worst, they didnt get any answers so the man had to take a nap.
- calamitous
- adj. Disastrous. The death of my dog has been calamitous ever since.
- conspire
- v. 1) To plan together secretly to do something wrong or illegal. 2) To join or act together. Good food, good atmosphere and good weather almost conspire to make a perfect time.
- lionize.
- v. To treat as a celebrity. The school lionized the soccer team because they won the championships.
- conspiracy
- n. A joining with others to carry out unlawful plans. My conspiracy to steal was done with great care.
- swelter
- v. To suffer from or to be overcome by great heat. I was sweltered when it was 125 degrees outside with no air conditioning.
