- COMPASS ROSE
- A symbol on a map used to tell the directions (N, S, E,W, NW, NE, SE, SW).
- KILOMETER
- A unit of measure equal to 1,000 meters or .6214 miles.
- GRID
- A pattern of intersecting lines of latitude and longitude on a map

LINES OF LONGITUDE
(MERIDIANS) - Imaginary lines that run east of west of the Prime Meridian passing from pole to pole.

LINES OF LATITUDE
(PARALLELS) - Imaginary lines which ar measured north or south of the equator.
- SYMBOL
- A picture or icon which represents something on a map.
- HEMISPHERE
- Either of two halves of the earth when divided into the east and west halves or the north and south halves.
- DISTORTION
- When the appearance of landforms on a map look changed and disproportionate.
- INTERPOLATION
- An estimate of coordinates used when exact placement is difficult.
- GREAT CIRCLE

- A map that shows the boundaries of states and countries.
- RELIEF MAP
- A map that shows how high or low all the geographical places are in a certain area.

- A map showing a side view or an outline view of landforms.

- Masses of salt water that cover the of earth's surface.
- ISLAND
- A body of land completely surrounded by water.
