- Khrushchev
- The Soviet ruler after Stalin who supported de-Stalinazation. He freed many political prisoners, eased censorship, and was responsible for the Cuban missile crisis.
- Khomeini
- The learned Shiite who was against western influence and was responsible for the Islamic Revolution. He set a theocracy based on the Quran and Sharia.
- Borid Yeltsin
- The president of Russia after the USSR broke up. He resigned in 1999 when he was unable to contain the Muslims in a revolt in Chechnya.

- After Lenin died, he became the USSR leader, where he tried making a modern industrial power. He was responsible for changing the USSR into a totalitarian state.

- During the Ciold War, he was the communist leader in North Vietnam who won the war for the North. He wanted to reunite Vietnam and make it completely communist.
- Gorbachev
- Leader of the Soviet Union from 1985 to 1991. Wanting reform, he renounced the Brezhnev Doctrine, pulled troops out of Afghanastan, supported Glasnost, and urged perestroika; but all this failed.
- Pol Pot
- Leader of the Khmer Rouge who wanted to end all western influence. In 1979, he was forced to retreat to remote areas when Vietnam invaded Cambodia.

- The president of Egypt after Nasser's death in 1970. He became the first Arab leader to make peace with Israel but he was assignated because of this.

- German chancellor in 1933. He led Germany into World War II and also into the Holocaust.

- The first South African president who had been elected by all races. He set up the ANC Youth League to encourage people to speak out against apartheid.

- Was the leader of the Bolsheviks. When the provisional government became weak, he attacked and overthrew, becoming the new leader of the USSR.

- He was the preident during the Vietnam war who who sent economic and military aid and America troops to South Vietnam. He was responsible for the failure of the Bay of Pigs.
- Mussolini
- The leader of the fascist party and dictator of Italy. Under him, he tested appeasemnt by invading Ethiopia.
- Josip Tito
- During WWII, he was a gurerilla leader who battled German forces. He set up a communist government in Yugoslavia and was independent from Moscow and the Soviet Union.
- Fidel Castro
- Cuban socialist leader who overthrew a dictator in 1959 and established a Marxist socialist state in Cuba. During the Cuban Missie Crisis, he turned to the Soviet Union for help.
- Mao Zedong
- The communist leader in China who defeated Jiang Jieshi after World War II. He is responsible for creating China in to a totalitarian state.
