- contraction
- a word formed from two or more words by omitting or combining some sounds

- a genre, elements of fiction and fantasy with scientific fact. science-fiction stories are set in the future

- a secret scheme to do something (especially something underhand or illegal)
- syllable
- a unit of spoken language larger than a phoneme

- a story passed on through generations, a sort of tall tale that is not true ; ficition

- a narrative that enforces a useful truth. It's two important characteristics are that they teach a lesson through the personification of animals
