Is an authoring language that defines the structure and layout of a document so that it displays as a web page in a browser.

Appearance and arrangement of the characters that make up your text, is just as important for a web page as it is for any other medium
WEB-SAFE FONTS
Are the most popular fonts and ones that most visitors are likely to have installed on their computers.
UNIFORM RESOURCE LOCATOR
Also called a Web Address, tells the browser on which server to locate the web page.

Consists of all the characters available in a particular style and weight for a specific design.
IP ADDRESS
A number that uniquely identifies each computer or device connected to the internet

A group of computers and associated devices that are connected by communication facilities.

The protocol that enables the transfer of data from the host computer to the client.

Provides a variety of Internet services fro a single, convenient location.
DOMAIN NAME
The text version of IP address.

Keeps track of the number of accesses.

Contains factual information, such as research and statistics.

ACCREDITED REGISTRAR DIRECTORY
Provides a listing of Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers accredited domain name registers.
CLIENT
The computer from which you can access the information.
DOMAIN NAME SYSTEM
An internet service that translates domain names into their corresponding IP address
ADVOCACY WEB SITE
You will find content that describes a cause, opinion, question, or idea.
ONLINE COMMUNITIES
Such as Yahoo! GeoCities, Tripod and MSN web communities and your educational institution web server.
PERSONAL WEB SITE
Published by an individual or family and generally is no associated with any organization.
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Communicates the intention of the web site.
WIRELESS SERVICE PROVIDER
Provides internet access to users with web-enabled devices or wireless modems.
