- adaptation
- Material that microorganisms and fungi break down
- biodegradable
- An animal that gets its energy by eating producers (plants) or other consumers (animals)
- consumer
- Organisms such as bacteria and mushrooms that help break down dead matter to get the energy they need.
- decomposer
- The clearing of large numbers of trees.
- deforestation
- The series of steps by which energy moves through an ecosystem starting with producers.
- food chain
- A device that makes very small object appear larger.
- microscope
- A creature that feeds off other creatures in order to survive.
- parasite
- An organism that uses light energy from the sun to make food. Most producers are green plants.

- A tool used for measuring tempurature

- The number of vibrations a sound wave creates over time.

- Interconnected food chains in an ecosystem.
- Food web
- A statement that you can test to discover if its true.
- Hypothesis
