- Bacteria
- Single-celled organisms that lack a nucleaus (prokaryotes).
- Vaccine
- A substance injected into the body to help destroy disease-causing viruses and organisms (Example- Flu shot)
- Algae
- Plant like protists.
- Host
- An organism that gives a source of energy or an environment for a virus or another organism to live.
- Antibiotic
- A cemical/medicine used to kill bacteria without harming a person's cells.
- Binary Fission
- Asexual reproduction where 1 cell divides to create 2 identical cells.
- Parsite
- An organism that lives on or in a host causing HARM.
- Virus
- a tiny, nonliving particle that invades and reproduces inside cells.
- Infectious Disease
- An illness that can pass from one organism to another (Example- AIDS)
- Decomposer
- An organism that breaks down chemicals from dead organisms.
- Pasteurization
- A process of heating food to kill harmful bacteria.
- Fungi
- A eukaryotic organism that has cell walls, uses spores to reproduce, and feeds by absorbing food.
- Spore
- A tiny cell that is able to grow in an organism.
- Antibiotic Resistance
- The ability of bacteria to block the effects of an anitbiotic.
- Protist
- A eukaryotic organism that cannot be classified as an animal, plant, or fungus.
- Budding
- Asexual reproduction of yeasts where a new cell grows out of the body of a parent.
