- Priorities
- a listing in order of importance EX. Amongst mike priorities are taking over the world, becoming rich and famous, and marrying a Slovak girl.
- To Struggle
- Make a great effort to do something EX. Juro struggled when she learned to play the Guitar.
- Implications
- effects or side-effects not mentioned or expected from something. EX. What are the implications of a law reducing the minimum salary? well the implications would be that people would not be able to afford basic needs.
- To Hinder
- preventing movement, etc. Ex. Driving hinders me from drinking
- second nature
- a characteristic or habit that appears to be instinctive. EX. Playing the piano is second nature for Lenka.
- Pessimistic
- expecting the worst. EX. Fero was pessimistic about the future of Slovakia. He said Slovak market would crash.
- To Be Unable
- If you are unable to do something, you can NOT do it. (adjective) EX. Jan is unable to come to class because of other engagements
- Inability
- lack of ability. EX. Fero has the inability to give me sentences.
- Committed
- you will never give up EX. Mike is committed to giving his students a great education.
- Alarming
- causing alarm or fear. EX. The drop of the Dollar is alarming for American citizens.
- anticipate
- realize beforehand, act in advance of, make a prediction about. EX. Kamila anticipated she would be fired from her job so she quit .
- evident
- easy to see and understand, obvious. EX. It is evident that Fico is a horrible politician.
- Allegations
- in law, assertions, or positive statements, made without proof. EX. "The allegations made against me are not true, i did not steal money" said Mečiar.
- To Decry
- condemn openly. EX. Hungarian Government decried the treatment of ethnic Hungarians in Dunajska Streda.
- Initiative
- first step or move EX. Marta always takes initiative because she is the Big Boss.
- Endeavor
- to make an effort to achieve something. EX. Teaching Slovaks english can be a big endeavor.
- Offended
- hurt the feelings of someone; made angry EX. Silvia was offended when I corrected her pronunciation.
- Alterations
- changes EX. These pants need some alterations they are too big for me.
