- additive inverse property
- For any number a, a + (-a) = 0.
- complex fraction
- If a fraction has one or more fractions in the numerator or denominator.
- cross products
- The cross products are the products of the terms on the diagonals.
- density property
- Between every pair of distinct rational numbers, ther are infinitely many rational numbers.
- formula
- An equation that states a rule for the realtionship between certain quantities.
- multiplicative property of -1
- The product of any number and -1 is its additive inverse. -1(a)= -a and a(-1)= -a
- negative number
- Any number that is less than zero.
- number line
- A line with equal distances marked off to represent numbers.
- opposities
- The opposite of a number is its additive inverse
- perfect square
- A rational number whose square root is a rational number.
- real number
- The set of rational numbers and the set of irrational numbers together.
- unit cost
- The cost of one unit of something.
- coordinate
- The number that corresponds to a point on a number line.
- graph
- To draw, or plot, the points named by certain numbers or ordered pairs on a number line or coordinate plane.
- matrix
- A matrix is a rectangular arrangement of elements in rows and columns.
- square root
- One of two identical factors of a number
- solution set
- The set of all replacements for the variable in an open sentence that result in a true sentence.
- function
- A relationship between input and output in which the output depends on the input.
