Expression
Made up of numbers, variables and operations

Variable
A letter used to represent 1 or more numbers
Unit Rate
A rate in which the denominator of the fraction is 1 unit
Rate
A fraction that compares 2 quantities measured in different units
Function
Consists of 2 sets called domain containing numbers called inputs and range containing numbers called outputs
Evaluate
To find the value of an expression
Base
The whole number or expression that is used as a factor in a repeated multiplication
Algebraic Expression
An expression that includes at least 1 variable
Order of Operations
To evaluate an expression involving more than 1 operation
Exponent
Represents the number of times the base is used as a factor
Inequality
A mathematical sentence formed by placing one of the symbols less than, greater than, or equal to between 2 expressions
Relation
Any pairing of a set of inputs with a set out of outputs. Every function is a relation but not every relation is a function unless if for every input there is exactly 1 output
Numbers
Representations of a quantity
Verbal Model
Describes a real world situation using words as labels and using math symbols to relate the words
Equation
A mathematical sentence formed by placing an equal sign between 2 expressions
Power
An expression that represents repeated multiplication of the same factor
Formula
An equation that relates 2 or more quantities
