Noun clauses are usually introduced by:
That, what, whatever, who, whoever, whom, whomever, and how.
Clause
A group of words that contains a verb and its subject and is used as part of a sentence.
Noun clauses may be used as
subject, complement(PN, DO, IO), or the Object of the prepostion.
Can Be used as adjectives, adverbs, or nouns.
Sub. Clauses
Noun Clauses sometimes DONT have a
stated introductory word
Adverb Clause Tells:
How, when, where, why, how much, to what extent, under what condition
Ind. Clauses are joined with
comma and the corrdinating conjuction AND or semicolon
Subordinate Clause
Don't make sense by themselves
Sub. clause must be joined to
indepented clause
Independent Clause
Can stand by itself as a sentence.
Compound Sentence
2/more ind. clauses, no sub clauses
Independent Clause
Contains a subject, verb and expresses a complete thought.
Relative Pronouns
Who, Whom, Whose, Which, That (ocassionally:where/when)
Contains: own subject and verb
Independent
Simple Sentence
1 ind. ; no sub clauses
