- an algebraic expression with NO like terms and no parenthesis: 6x + 12
- inverse operations
- inverse operations "undo" each other
- subtraction property of equality
- creates equivalent expressions by subtracting an equal number from each side of an equation.

- creates equivalent expressions by adding an equal number for each side of an equation.

- an equation that shows a relationship among certain quantities. Usually contains two or more variables.

- the distance AROUND a geometric figure
