What can you tell me about the CNE?
-Founded in 1879 so it is a part of the heritage in our region.

-It is the largest fair in canada and most eco friendly fair in north america.

-Over a million people around the country come for the event.

-For this reason it generates a lot of money for both the city of toronto and province of ontario.

-It has a wide variety of entertainment and food for people of all ages.







What can you tell me about the job?
-I've never done this job before, but I did some research on what it is about.

-I've read that an industrial machine is used to compact garbage.

-There is a sort of tray that is filled with a trash bag and it is loaded into the compacting machine.

-After this, the door of the compactor is opened and bags of trash are thrown into it.

-The door is then locked and the start button is push for the machine to begin its job.

-When it is done, the machine is unloaded and the remains are thrown into a dumpster.









Why do you want to work here?
-I have applied to a few places, but this one was the first, so I really appreciate that you're giving me this opportunity.

-The environment of the work seems great.

-I don't know who wouldn't want to work here.

-It's during the summer, the weather is hot and the fair is a lot of fun.

-My friend also work here a few summers ago and he advised that I give it a look because he liked working here.







What can you bring that others can't?
-I can't tell you anything about the other applicants, but I know about myself.

-I know I can bring a great work ethic and enthusiasm.

-Being in university, I get a lot of assignments and work throughout the year. I always get through it and I don't give up. I adapt quickly and I don't lose interest in my work.

-I also speak english, french and some italian.





What are you passionate about?
-I'm very passionate about helping others.

-I used to have trouble with my french immersion school work when I was younger and my mother would do anything she could to help me with it. She would take me to all kinds of places and I believe this is the reason why I want to become a teacher. I help my brother and sister with their french work and I'm looking to volunteer to get experience at a school.

Why should we hire you?
-I know there are a lot of applicants, but I know that if I'm chosen you can count on me 100%.

-I’m attentive, I follow instructions well, I'm enthusiastic about my work, I'm not lazy and I'm helpful.

How do you handle stress or pressure?
-Obviously pressure is a good thing because it helps you grow as a person. So it's something you have to go through.

-But, for me I like to exercise, I do that 4 times a week and everything seems great after that.

-Even with a lot of work as long as I continue with it then I feel fine.



What is your weakness?
-I'm not the loudest person, but it doesn’t affect my ability to speak to people or have a conversation with them.
How do you work with groups?
-I tend to work well with group members, but I also thrive working independently.
What is your strength?
-I hold myself accountable.

-I know the importance of working as a team, but I also know that you need to be accountable for your own work in order for the team to work well.

Tell me about yourself
-My name is Abdirezak, I’m 18 years old and I’m currently studying in university.

-I’m hard working, active, eager to learn, but I also like to teach others and help them get better.

Describe a difficult work situation and how you overcame it?
-A couple years ago at school I was on a field trip and that day our teacher gave us a group project to work on in pairs.

-Since I wasn't there, a student from my class who didn't have a partner, so picked me to be in his group.

-Over the next week I would check up with him and I also organized what parts we would do individually.

-Every time he would tell me he would get to it later, and the date of the presentation was getting closer and closer.

-Since I figured he wasn't going to do anything, I did both my part as well as his.

-Obviously I let my teacher know about it because it the problem and she decided to mark us individually.

-I presented my part and he did the one I gave him.

-In the end, the problem was resolved.
