perceptual representation (PRS)
Procedural memory - two tasks are said to be dissociated if ...
- their performances are not positively correlated
- Four different types of dissociation:
-
1. functional
2. developmental
3. pharmacological
4. brain-damage dissociations - What is a functional dissociation
- they are observed in experiments in which a single group of subjects is given two different tasks whose performance varies as a function of the independent variables
- What is a developmental dissociation?
- observed in experiments in which a the performance of (at least) two groups of subjects differing in age is compared o (at least) two tasks.
- What is a pharmacological dissociation?
- similar to developmental dissociations in that they also involve more than a single group of subjects, or the same group on separate test occasions.
- What is a brain damage dissociation?
- found in experiments involving (at least) two groups of subjects differing in the kind or extent of brain damage, including controls with none, whose performance is compared on (at least) two tasks.
