- Arachnoid Villi (Granulations)
- Berry-like tuft of the arachnoid mater that protrudes into the superior sagittal sinus and through which cerebrospinal fluid is reabsorbed into the bloodstream.

- A barrier consisting of specialized brain cappilaries and astrocytes that prevents the passage of materials from the blood to the cerebrospinal fluid and brain.
