Cell
The basic buliding blocks of life.
Organelle
Tiny structures that carry our functions in a cell.
Mitochondria
Produce energy for the cell, often called the "powerhouse".
Ribosomes
Produce proteins for the cell.
Cytoplasm
The clear, gel-like fluid an organelle/cell floats in.
Cell Wall
Found in plant cells, the outer layer that protects the cell.
Cell Membrane
The double layer of a cell that protects it and controls what goes in and out of it.
Golgi Bodies
Package things to be transported throughout the cell.
E.R. - Endoplasmic Reticulum
The maze or series of passageways that transport things throughout a cell.
Eukaryote
Cells with a nucleus.
Prokaryote
Cells without a membrane.
Nucleus
The control center of the cell.
Cell Theory #1
All living things are made of cells.
Cell Theory #2
Cells are the basic building blocks of life.
Cell Theory #3
All cells come from other cells.
