On yin channels, the same as yuan-source point: may be single most important point of their respective channel. (Not so much on the yang channels.)

SS have important actions on their respective YANG channels. (Not so much on the Yin.)

Ex. LI 3 - Clear WH from head, throat, teeth, eyes and mouth
GB 41 - Disperse LV qi stag throughout Shaoyang channel
SS: Heaviness of Body, Pain of Joints
Painful obstruction due to Damp. Except for SP 3 this is mainly true for Yang channels.

Ex. LI 3 for finger joints, shoulder and back painful obstruction from qi/xue xu
SS: Intermittent Diseases
Malaria, classically. 8 SS in all treat it.

He-sea pts among the most important points for d/o of ST and INTS.

Approaching the knee/elbow these points have greater effect on the center of the body.
Diseases of the Fu
Strong action on ST and INTS, esp. the he-sea of the lower limb. The he-sea of the 3 arm Yang don't do much - hence, lower he-sea.
Diseases of the Skin
This action is not limited to the yang he-sea points, but

LI 11 & UB 40 are the two most important points for skin disorders.
