Scalar
A quantity specified by its magnitude, (a number and a unit.)
Components
The effective values of a force in directions other than the force itself.
Vector
A quantity specified by a magnitude and a direction, (a number, a unit, and a direction.)
Resultant
is a single force which will produce the same effect in both magnitude and direction as two or more concurrent forces.
Displacement
A vector or the magnitude of a vector from the initial position to a subsequent position assumed by a body.
Sine
ratio of the opposite side to the hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle.
Force
A vector quantity that tends to produce an acceleration of a body in the direction of its application.
Cosine
ratio of the adjacent side to the hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle.
Concurrent forces
two or more forces acting at the same point of an object.
Tangent
the ratio of the opposite side to the adjacent side of a right-angled triangle.
