- Hct = 3 x Hgb
- Monitoring Fluid Status
What to watch for:
- 1) Dry mucous membranes become moist again
2) Tenting of skin becomes normal
3) Watch for overload with edema: LEGS / LUNGS
- Hypercalcemia: STAGING
- Mild: 10.5 - 11.9 mg/dL
Moderate: 12.0 - 13.9
Severe: 14.0 or greater
- Hemodynamicaly Unstable?
- SEPTIC:
Hypotension <90/60
Incr. RR
Tachycardic
Low O2 sat
Mental status changes
- Anemia Therapy
- Epogen for Hb <= 10
150U/kg IV/SC 3x/wk up to 8 weeks
Maint: up to 300U/kg 3x/wk
Fe 325 qd for epogen to work better
