Indications
Shock and hypotension not resulting from hypovolemia, bradycardia refractory to atropine and pacing
Contraindications
Hypovolemic shock, pheochromocytoma
Precautions
MAO inhibitors
Side Effects
Increased myocardial oxygen demand, ischemia, tachydysrhythmias, and tissue necrosis
Interactions
Sodium bicarbonate
Dosage
5-20 mcg/kg/minute
How Supplied
Prefilled syringes and ampules of either 400 or 800 mg. Premix bags with either 400 or 800 mg in 250-500 cc.
