neutropenia

marked decrease in the number of RBCs, WBCs, and platelets
phagocytosis
a process by which WBCs ingest or engulf any unwanted organism and then digest and kill it
reticulocyte
an immature erythrocyte; measurement of the number of reticulocytes is a useful means of evaluating the rate and adequacy of erythrocyte production
stem cell
a non-differentiated immature blood cell found in the bone marrow that is a precursor to all blood cells

thrombocytopenia
a reduction of the platelet count below the normal range of 150,000 to 400,000/µl (150 to 400 × 109/L)
