- protagonist
- the main charector or hero of the play
- symbol
- is any object, person, place, action that has meaning in it and stands for something larger than itself

- a charector that sets off another charector by contrast
- soliloquy
- A long uninterruped speech presented to charectors on stage
- monologue
- speech where a charector, alone on stage, speaks his or her thoughts onlly to the audience

- a comparision made between two dissimilar things through the use of specific word of comparision(like or as)
- personification
- a figure of speech in which an animal, object, natural force, or idea is given a personality and described as human
- antagoinist
- the charector or force that works against the protagonist; introduces conflicts
- analogy
- in extended comparison showing similarities between to dissimilar things
- aside
- the words spoken by a charector in a play, usally intented for an audience ( when they pause the olay and talk)
- irony
- the use of words to express something differnent from and often opposite to their literal meaning
- charectorization
- the personality a charector displays, also the means by which the author reveals that personality
