"ts" as in "hats" even at the beginning of a word.

"ch" as in church
gy
"dj" like the "j" in "jury" with your tongue pressed against the roof of your mouth
(an important sound in Hungarian and probably the most difficult for foreigners)

like the "y" in "yes"
ly
like the "y" in "yes"
(the one exception of a silent letter in Hungarian)

like the "ni" in "onion" or the "gn" in "cognac"
r
pronounced with the tip of your tongue; a slightly trilled Spanish or Scottish "r"

ALWAYS "sh" as in "shop"
(This along with "sz" is the most difficult letter for foreigners to remember how to say & causes the most confusion)

ALWAYS "s" as in "set"
(An easy way to remember it is the important Magyar word "szex")

like "tube" in British English or the "ti" in "prettier" said fast
(rare)

"v" as in "vat"
(In foreign words only, but "WC" ("vay tsay") is an important one to know

Like the "s" in "measure" or "pleasure"
