A polygon with six sides.
Hexagon
angle
A figure that is formed by two rays or two line segments with a common endpoint.
Circle
the set of all points in a plane that are the same distance from a given oint known as the center.
Circumference
The distance around a circle or sphere (perimeter of a circle)
concave polygon
a polygon in which at least on vertex is "pushed in"
Concentric circles
circles that have the same center but different radii.
congruent
having the same shape and size
convex polygons
a polygon in which all verticies are pushed outward
diameter
a line segment that passes through the center of a circle or sphere and has endpoints on the circle or sphere.
endpoint
A point at the end of a line segment or ray
equilateral triangle
a triangle with all angles and sides equal.
hexagon
a polygon with six sides
intersect
to meet or cross
kite
a quadrilateral with two pairs of adjacent equal sides. The four sides cannot have the same length
line segemnt
a straight path joining two points called endpoints.
nonagon
apolygon with nine sides
octagon
apolygon with eight sides
Parallel
never meeting and always the same distance apart
parallelogram
a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides that are congruent.
pentagon
a five-sided polygon
perimeter
the distance around the outside of a 2-d shape.
perpendicular
meeting at right angles
point
an exact location in space
polygon
a closed 2-d figure that is made up of line segments and has one inside and one outside
quadrangle or quadrilateral
a polygon that has four sides
radius
a line segemnt from the center of the circleto any point on the circle. Half the diameter
ray
a straight path that extends infinitely from one endpoint
rectangle
a quadrilateral with right angles
regular polygon
a polygon in which all angles and sides are equal
rhombus
a quadrilateral whose sides are all the same length
a right triangle
a triangle with a right angle
square
arectangle with all congruent sides
trapezoid
a quadrilateral with only one pair of parallel sides
triangle
a polygon with three sides
vertex
the point where the rays of an angle meet
