A rounded knob that articulates (To unite by forming a joint or joints)with another bone.
Condyle
A smooth, flat, slightly concave or convex articular surface.
Facet
The prominent expanded end of a bone, sometimes rounded.
Head
A narrow ridge
Crest
A projection superior to a condyle.
Epicondyle
A slightly raised, elongated ridge
Line
Any bony prominence
Process
A sharp, slender, or narrow process
Spine
A massive process unique to the femur
Trochanter
A small, rounded process
Tubercle
A rough surface
Tuberosity
A pit or socket
Alveolus
A shallow, broad, or elongated basin
Fossa
A groove for a tendon, nerve, or blood vessel.
Sulcus
A tubular passage or tunnel in a bone
Canal
A slit through a bone
Fissure
A hole through a bone, usually round
Foramen
An opening into a canal
Meatus
