Compound
A new substance formed from the chemical union of two or more elements.
Atomic mass
The sum of the number of protons and neutrons found in the nucleus of an atom.
Element
The simplest type of substance.
Nucleus
The core (center part) of an atom.
Proton
Is contained in the nucleus; has a positive charge.
Atomic number
The number of protons found in the nucleus of an atom
Electrons
Negatively charged particles
(that are equal in number to the positively charged protons)
Molecule
Two or more atoms that have chemically been united.
Atom
The smallest particle of matter
Neutron
Has no electric charge
Weight
The measure of the gravitational force on an object.
Density
The mass of a substance divided by its volume.
