Crust
Of geology, the outer layer of the earth.
Mantlerock
The topmost layer loose rock and soil that covers bedrock of the earths crust.
Weathering
A process that causes rocks to graduley break or crumble into smaller pieces.
Geologist
A scientist who studies the matter and motion of the earths surface.
Bedrock
A mast of solid rock below the mantle of the earth.
Plate
Of geology, a huge section of the earths crust that fits together with other plates like a giant jigsaw puzzle.
Moho
the Mohorovicic discontinuity; the boundary between the crust and the mantle of the earth
Mantle
of geology, a layer of the earth about 1,800 miles deep, found below the moho.
Core
of geology, the inner section of the earth, below the mantle.
Outer core
The molten portion surrounding the inner core of the earth.
Inner core
The solid central portion of the earth's core.
