bulla
a fluid-filled lesion larger than 1cm that is thin-walled and ruptures easily
macule
a round, flat, pigmented area
papule
a palpable lesion (something that can be felt) that is rounded, solid and raised (less than 1cm)
plaque
an area of papules that are merged to form a lesion larger than 1cm
pustule
a round, raised, pus-filled lesion
urticaria
an intensely itchy (pruritic) area of wheals that have merged
vesicle
a raised, clear fluid-filled lesion up to 1cm in size
excoriation
reddened abrasions, usually from itching
keloid
excess scar tissue
arthrocentesis
aspiration of fluid from a joint
arthroplasty
surgical procedure to create an artificial joint or to restore an injured joint
arthroscopy
examination of the interior of a joint using an endoscope
